Giulia Fiorese
Giulia Fiorese joined the JRC in 2012. Giulia’s research focuses on the development of an integrated modelling framework capable of assessing greenhouse gas emissions from forestry, agriculture and other land uses. The aim is to assess the impacts of different EU policy scenarios with a specific focus on forest biomass and its uses for energy and products. Specific focus is given to the assessment of cost-supply curves of forest biomass at EU level. Education: Ph.D. in Ecology at Università degli Studi di Parma (2008); M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (2003). Professional experience: researcher on optimal planning of biomass-to-energy systems and other renewable sources of energy at Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione, Politecnico di Milano (Milano), 2004-2012. Associate researcher on innovation in energy technologies (Icarus Project <www.icarus-project.org>) at FEEM-Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (Milano), 2010-2012.
