Nelly Gaillard joined JRC in April 2023 as a Trainee working on Active Learning, a dataset generation technique for deep learning applied to forest disturbances mapping. She holds a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino and a MSc in Data Science and Engineering at the same university. Her main fields of interest are Artificial Intelligence and computer vision applied to the space sector and to Earth Observation for environmental monitoring.
