Viola Di Cori is a PhD student who has joined the JRC in September 2020. Her work is part of the Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) between the JRC and the University of Padova, Italy. The CDP scheme intends to enhance the science-policy link through strategic collaborations between education institutions and the European Commission. Her PhD project is about assessing the contribution of forest ecosystem services to the European bioeconomy, mapping out the beneficiaries and assessing the value added that depends on these services. She has an academic background in Development Economics and International Relations. Prior to start her PhD, Viola had 3 years of research and work experience in advanced research institutes and International Organizations, in the area of socio-economic analysis and evaluation. Her experience also includes fieldwork in Tanzania and Uganda.
