Achille Mauri

Achille is currently working on two main projects that are related to the assessment of forest ecosystem condition at European level and to the assessment of climate-driven habitat loss in the European mountains and Mediterranean areas. In parallel, he contributes to interdisciplinary projects related to the assessment and modeling of existing and future European forest resources under foreseen climate change scenarios. At JRC he provide a substantial contribution to the publication of the European Atlas of forest tree species. Before joining the JRC, he completed a PhD in Environmental Engineering at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) where he investigated past climate and vegetation changes on a continental scale using a combination of palaeoecological databases and vegetation modeling.
