As the science and knowledge service of the European Commission, the Joint Research Centre's mission is to support EU policies with independent evidence throughout the whole policy cycle.
I am a project officer at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. I have a PhD in forest management and silviculture. My background and expertise embrace the implementation and monitoring of sustainability principles in forest management and planning, the assessment and mapping of forest ecosystems’ goods and services (including climate regulation and biodiversity conservation), the use and testing of forest growth models, and the improvement of science-policy interface in the forestry sector. At JRC, I join the “Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry” group, coordinated by Giacomo Grassi. My activities are mainly focused on supporting the implementation of the climate policies at EU scale, and the application of robust modelling tools to evaluate the potential contribution of European forest ecosystems to climate mitigation targets.
