Margherita Di Leo

Margherita Di Leo gained her BSc degree in Environmental Engineering with emphasis on Seismic Risk, and her MSc degree with a specialization in Natural Risks Management, both at the University of Basilicata (Italy). She prepared her MSc thesis as visiting scholar at Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Spain). She worked in a private company as project designer of renewable energy plants. In 2010 she was a visiting scholar at the Department of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, North Carolina State University (USA), where she dealt with Advanced Geospatial Modeling with Open Source GIS. In 2012 she gained her Ph.D. in Method and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring at the Department of Environmental Engineering and Physics (DIFA), University of Basilicata, with a concentration in hydrological modeling, ecohydrology and GIS. Since July 2012 she has been a post doctoral researcher at the IES. Her current activities lie in advanced GIS analysis and forest mapping, pest risk analysis, wildfire risk.
