Andrea Camia

Scientific officer at the Joint Research Centre since 2004, adjunct professor at the University of Torino and University of Palermo (IT) from 1996 to 2003, PhD in Forest Sciences in 1995. Currently Bioeconomy Project leader at the JRC Directorate for Sustainable Resources, encompassing the coordination of the JRC Biomass Study (under the mandate agreed by European Commission services on the provision of data and analysis on biomass flow, supply and demand by the JRC on a long-term basis) and the Bioeconomy Knowledge Centre. During his first years at JRC he has been in charge of supporting the coordination for the development and operation of the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS), and of carrying out scientific research in the fields of forest fires and climate change, fire history, fire danger rating, long term fire risk in Europe.
