Daniele de Rigo

Daniele de Rigo graduated in 2002 at Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), Italy, in Environmental Engineering and holds a PhD in Information Technology by POLIMI (2015). After having worked at CESI (Italy), he worked at POLIMI on natural resources (water) management and planning at the catchment scale. Since June 2010 he worked as a research scientist in the JRC Institute for Environment and Sustainability, on modelling forest tree species current distribution and suitability at European scale, under climate change scenarios. He collaborates as external staff also in supporting the integrated modelling of forest resources disturbances (forest pests, wildfires) and their effects on soil resources (soil erosion, landslides). He is interested in how to facilitate synergies, integration and scalability of natural resources (forests, soil, water) modelling and management to better support EU policy-makers and to help to move scientific research toward stronger reproducibility and cooperation.
